Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial/Technical Specialist to join our team at IHS Towers. As a Financial/Technical Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company and providing strategic recommendations to drive financial growth and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, asset movement, monthly reconciliations, and monthly reporting. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing daily and weekly financial reports for the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on asset usage, turnover, run rate, expenses, and petty cash.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and models to support the technical department short-term and long-term goals.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis and provide insights on key financial metrics, trends, and forecasts to senior management.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate actions to optimize profitability and cost efficiency.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic financial targets and expense plans.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial forecasts, including variance analysis against budgeted figures.
- Monitor budget execution, track spending, and provide regular reports to management on budget performance.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of financial accounts and ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Asset Movement:
- Manage the movement of company assets, including equipment, inventory, and investments.
- Develop and implement asset tracking systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper utilization of assets.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to optimize asset allocation and minimize loss or waste.
- Daily and Weekly Financial Reports:
- Prepare daily and weekly financial reports specifically for the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on asset usage, turnover, run rate, expenses, Diesel and petty cash.
- Analyze and interpret financial data to provide meaningful insights and recommendations to the CTO.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the reports and address any inquiries or concerns from the CTO regarding financial performance.
- Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Human Resources, to support business initiatives and drive financial success.

Diesel Management :
- Planning and Control:
- Collaborate with the operations team to forecast diesel requirements based on operational needs and project timelines.
- Develop a comprehensive diesel management plan, including inventory levels, procurement schedules, and distribution strategies.
- Monitor diesel consumption patterns and identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
- Purchase Order (PO) Issuance:
- Initiate and oversee the process of issuing purchase orders for diesel procurement, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all diesel-related purchase orders and related documentation.
- Invoice Tracking and Validation:
- Establish a robust system for tracking and validating diesel-related invoices from suppliers.
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring they align with the agreed-upon terms and quantities.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate payment of diesel invoices.
- Controls Over Diesel Process:
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the proper and efficient management of diesel within the organization.
- Work closely with the operations team to establish control mechanisms for diesel distribution, usage tracking, and reconciliation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with diesel management processes and identify any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Collaborative Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with the operations team to understand their diesel requirements and address any concerns or issues related to diesel management.
- Collaborate with the finance, procurement, and operations teams to streamline processes and ensure efficient and cost-effective diesel management.
- Provide guidance and training to the operations team on best practices for diesel utilization and control.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager or similar role.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools, as well as financial management software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
