Job Description

We are looking for a Controller to join our IFS North America team!  In this role, you will oversee accounting activities and ensure that ledgers accurately reflect financial results. You will be responsible for managing all operations in the accounting department, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledgers, cost accounting and revenue recognition. You will ensure effective quality control for financial reporting and transactions.  We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships across the business and loves being part of a team!

This position can be remote. Central and Eastern time zones preferred.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare accounting records to reflect the activities of the corporation.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team. Regularly evaluate staff and implement policies and procedures that drive automation and increase efficiency. Help drive a positive team culture.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting.
  • Administer the month-end close process within the standard close timelines and process. Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocations.
  • Help design, review, and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, and financial procedures.
  • Oversee and manage all cash applications.
  • Maintain control of sales, administrative, and financial expenses and the planning, control, and valuation of inventories.
  • Answer special inquiries of an accounting nature.
  • Provide protection for the company assets.
  • Liaison and work as an effective business partner with Global Finance, Americas FP&A, and the Americas commercial team.
  • Ensure Center of Excellence service delivery meets regional requirements   
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and oversee the preparation of all external audits.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to both the short-term and long-term growth plans of the organization.
  • Comprehend and apply revenue recognition policies.
  • Support systems and acquisition integrations and provide critical financial and operational information for implementation.
  • Coordinate and strategize methods used to attain department and regional goals.
  • Assist in the preparation of various filings, including tax.

  • Solid understanding of the principles of planning, organization, and control.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in finance
  • CPA beneficial but not required
