Job Description
The BDR Team Lead plays a critical role in supporting the development, performance, and success of the Business Development team. This individual will serve as a day-to-day resource for BDRs, helping drive execution, coaching, onboarding, campaign performance, and pipeline generation. Working closely with the Director of Business Development, the Team Lead will help build the next generation of IFS pipeline builders while developing foundational leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Team Coaching & Development
- Serve as a day-to-day resource for BDR teammates, answering questions, removing obstacles, and helping reps navigate prospecting and qualification challenges.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve messaging, qualification, objection handling, and pipeline generation.
- Participate in performance and development conversations under the guidance of the Director of Business Development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and recognition.
Onboarding & Enablement
- Support onboarding and ramp-up activities for new BDRs through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct regular check-ins with new hires to assess progress and identify development opportunities.
- Assist with ongoing BDR enablement, including CRM best practices, prospecting techniques, market knowledge, and value proposition training.
- Help build scalable onboarding and coaching frameworks that support team growth.
Pipeline & Campaign Execution
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Sales Operations to support campaign execution, target account strategies, and ICP alignment.
- Monitor campaign effectiveness and provide feedback to improve conversion rates and outbound performance.
- Work alongside BDRs to identify funnel gaps, improve meeting quality, and increase downstream pipeline conversion.
- Support lead qualification processes and ensure effective progression through the sales funnel.
Operational Excellence
- Shadow and assist the Director of Business Development with reporting, pipeline reviews, activity tracking, KPI management, and team operations.
- Monitor CRM hygiene and data quality to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
- Support AE-to-SQL handoff processes and help manage lead queues when needed.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement best practices across the team.
Leadership & Strategic Support
- Assist in developing persona-based messaging and outbound strategies for key IFS markets.
- Provide tactical input on account strategy and prospecting initiatives.
- Serve as a backup resource for meetings, coaching sessions, reporting activities, and team initiatives when needed.
- Contribute to contests, incentives, and team engagement activities that support a high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of BDR, inside sales, or business development experience with a record of achieving activity and pipeline goals.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and support peers in a collaborative environment.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Proficiency with HubSpot, Aircall, Demandbase, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other sales technologies.
- Strong understanding of prospecting, qualification, pipeline management, and sales process fundamentals.
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow into a future leadership role.
