Job Description

About the role

IFS is looking for a Specialist Data Analyst to join the Global Renewals function and play a central role in the intelligence that drives customer retention, revenue growth, and strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of analytics, operations, and innovation — building advanced reporting, transforming complex multi-source data, and working with global teams to deliver insights that make a measurable difference.

You will own the full data lifecycle for renewals analytics — sourcing and transforming data, maintaining core operational datasets, building and publishing Power BI reporting, and independently deriving the business intelligence your stakeholders need. A key part of this role is continuously improving how data flows into reporting through live system connections, automation, and emerging tools — reducing manual effort and increasing the speed and reliability of insight.

This role suits someone who is analytically rigorous, technically strong, and already using AI as a natural part of how they work. If you bring the independence to run your own workload, the curiosity to find better ways of doing things, and the drive to turn data into decisions — we want to hear from you.

1. Data and reporting

  • Build and maintain Excel workbooks and Power BI dashboards delivering actionable insight against renewal and growth objectives
  • KPI analysis, scenario modelling, and executive reporting aligned to business cadence — surface meaning, not just numbers
  • Track and interpret renewal rate, ACV uplift, incremental ACV, churn, and ARR across the global install base

2. Commercial intelligence

  • Apply working knowledge of subscription renewal mechanics — ACV, ARR, uplift, churn, GRR, contract structures — to derive independent business insight from data
  • Track incremental and renewal contract pricing against ACV growth objectives; identify at-risk accounts and opportunities without direction
  • Consistent application of business rules and commercial logic across reporting cycles without repeated clarification

3. Technical delivery

  • Power BI — advanced DAX including calculated tables, time intelligence, and complex measures; data model to published output; KPI visuals; tabular model structure
  • XMLA endpoint connectivity — live Excel connections to Power BI semantic models; multi-connection workbook architecture; DAX query authoring against tabular models
  • Excel and Power Query workbook architecture — multi-source pipelines, hierarchy logic, named ranges, dynamic arrays; structured for others to maintain
  • Dataverse and data lake integration — live data source connectivity; evaluate and adopt better approaches to automated ingestion as tooling evolves
  • Data integrity — output validation, source change detection, reconciliation, audit-ready datasets

4. Collaboration and operations

  • Partner with sales, renewals, and customer success teams globally to deliver commercially relevant data insight
  • Present findings in actionable format for both technical and executive audiences; adapt output to audience without prompting
  • Proactive data quality and accessibility improvements — issues identified and resolved before they reach stakeholders

5. Automation and AI

  • Automate recurring reporting and processes using Power BI, Power Automate, and equivalent tools
  • Active daily use of AI in analytical workflow — conceptualise approaches, sense-check logic, accelerate output quality
  • Apply AI and machine learning to predictive use cases: churn risk, renewal forecasting, customer segmentation

Capabilities

  • Innovative and curious — actively seeks better approaches, challenges existing methods, brings ideas without waiting for direction
  • Strong problem-solving underpinned by systems-based analytical thinking — traces issues to root cause, works through complexity independently
  • Works effectively under sustained time pressure in a fast-paced, highly matrixed global environment
  • High attention to detail; rapidly assimilates complex data into clear business information and prioritises by impact
  • Proactive ownership — self-motivated, results-oriented, accountable for quality of outputs end to end
  • Professional fluency in English — clear written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years as a data or BI analyst in software renewals, sales operations, or customer retention.
  • Active, demonstrable use of AI tools in analytical work — specific examples required at interview.
  • Proven ability to derive business conclusions from data independently — not just transform and present it.
  • Power BI — advanced DAX, tabular model authoring, data model to published dashboard
  • XMLA endpoint connectivity — live Power BI semantic model connections into Excel
  • Consistent delivery against a recurring reporting cadence with minimal oversight
  • Preferred

  • SQL proficiency
  • Forecasting or incentive compensation platform experience
  • Familiarity with OLAP or cube-based reporting environments and connecting to them via Power Query.
  • Experience working within an enterprise customer hierarchy model (parent/subsidiary/HoldCo structures).
  • Microsoft certifications such as Data Analyst Associate or Power BI Certification.
  • Experience with IFS applications or IFS Cloud is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Power Automate or equivalent workflow automation tools.
