Job Description
As the platform owner, you will shape the Service Platform roadmap, drive innovation (including AI and automation), mature governance, and optimize the platform experience for both internal teams and external customers. You will lead a high‑performing team of architects, business analysts, developers testers, and administrators, while collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across IT, Data, and the wider business. This role strategically and tactically manages our financial, skills, and effort investments in our Service Platforms. The position ensures that our tools and technologies truly enable us to do business better — for our shareholders, employees, and customers alike.
Role Overview
Strategic ownership of Service Platforms tooling, for Unified Support
- Strategic, Tactical and Operational accountability for the Service Platform, ensuring availability and integrity through effective change and risk management
- Lead solution governance across the portfolio of platforms, including vendor selection and management, solution lifecycle strategies and plans, and change advisory boards.
- Operate with clear sense of accountability for the timeliness, quality, and ROI of all platform decisions, projects, and enhancements.
- Own and continuously improve the demand management process, ensuring:
- Users always have reliable, efficient, and relevant solutions.
- Prioritization is transparent and consistently aligned with business objectives across functions.
- Expectations are managed effectively, balancing what we can and cannot commit to.
- Leadership changes in prioritization are supported by data and impact analysis for confident decision-making.
- Proactively manage executive and leadership communications, using tools such as self-serve dashboards and data-driven summaries. Make certain critical impact is transparent when change arises.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, and Administrators, fostering a strong engineering culture, and commitment to efficiency and quality.
- Monitor the impact of initiatives and provide strategic insights to maximize the value of our financial and talent investments, through effective prioritisation and resource planning.
GCS IT Budget Management & Cost Optimization
- Partner closely with GCS and IT Finance teams to ensure that budget allocations align with business priorities and that transparency supports confident decision-making.
- Proactively manage license assignments and renewals throughout the year to stay within budget.
- Collaborate on renewals and cost optimization opportunities that impact budget performance.
- Navigate in-year budget adjustments with strong stakeholder management, ensuring new investments are backed by ROI analysis and appropriate executive approval.
- Support delivery of savings initiatives with diplomacy and strategic foresight.
People Management
- Champion the IFS Aspire2Thrive Program by driving effective goal setting, talent assessment, succession planning, promotions, and professional development, to drive team and individual performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team that works efficiently, follows established best practices, and adapts with agility and innovation to meet business needs.
- Guide the team through change, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of people management experience
- 7+ years of developing, governing or running projects and programs on service platforms
- ITIL certifications
- ServiceNow and Jira experience highly preferable
