Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Senior Payroll Specialist to work in EMEA hours with proven experience in Global Payroll to join our expanding team. This position reports directly to the Senior Global Payroll Manager based in Dublin, Ireland, and is responsible for administering complete monthly payroll processes for employees across the UK, Ireland and other European entities. The role is instrumental in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and timeliness, while effectively coordinating between HR, Finance, and external service providers.
What You’ll Do:
- As part of the global payroll team, you will be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll for employees in the UK , Ireland and other European entities. Based on the company's requirements, there may be occasions when team members are asked to support colleagues or manage additional payroll runs in EMEA.
- As the UK and Irish payrolls are important to the business, you will work closely with HR team to ensure accurate employee data, including the setup of new employee records, validating employees’ changes, and employee terminations.
- Reconcile and process payroll deduction changes for different country pension funds, enrolments, and deductions, and remit funding periodically.
- Initiate off-cycle payments for terminations within regulatory timeframes.
- Calculate and process country-specific leave payments in accordance with the country and company leave policy and regulations.
- Ensure all payroll-related tax filings are done timely and accurately, including the set-up of new accounts with various federal and state and local agencies. Work with tax agencies and payroll service providers to resolve tax issues.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations - monitoring federal, state, city, and local registrations for payroll taxes.
- Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations (reconciliation of payroll GL accounts to payroll register)
- Participate in internal/external payroll-related audits and requests.
- Provides support to the Human Resources team to help resolve payroll-related matters.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and/or key stakeholders.
- Ability to work through payroll platform changes and implementations, various integrations, and related activities.
- Develop, maintain, and improve payroll processes, employment tax processes, and internal controls to preserve the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of all payroll functions while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage vendors and system providers, including compliance with service level agreements.
- Communicate effectively with various levels of management to ensure a high level of customer support and positive customer interactions.
- Ensuring the department’s ability to meet all company deadlines and annual performance goals.
Work with 3rd party payroll vendors to ensure that payroll-related file feeds are accurate and timely
Qualifications
- You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience processing payroll
- Must have UK and Irish payroll processing experience with strong knowledge of UK and Irish payroll tax, pension, benefits and wage laws
- Payroll processing experience of any of the following countries (Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, or Saudi Arabia) is advantageous
- Highly proficient in data entry, multiple payroll systems, Workday experience, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines, all while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organization skills and the ability to maintain detailed records
- Ability to work collaboratively across different departments
- The selected candidate will be working in EU Shift hours
