About the Role: 

We're looking for an experienced Lead UX Designer to drive user experience strategy, lead and mentor a small team of designers and help shape product direction with a strong AI-first mindset. This role is ideal for a proactive communicator and creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-impact user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic UX Leadership

  • Contribute to shaping product direction by translating company goals and user needs into actionable UX strategies.
  • Take initiative in identifying opportunities for product and design improvements, helping squads make informed, user-centered decisions.
  • Champion a design culture that balances user value, technical feasibility, and business outcomes.

Design Ownership & Mentorship

  • Lead and support UX Designers in crafting intuitive and efficient interfaces across web and mobile.
  • Help designers navigate complex design challenges by providing guidance, structure, and feedback.
  • Drive the adoption and evolution of the design system to ensure coherence, scalability, and speed.

Influence and Decision-Making in Squads

  • Actively participate in squad-level discussions to shape solutions from early discovery through delivery.
  • Bring a design perspective to trade-offs and prioritization conversations, and help teams align on decisions that serve both users and the business.
  • Use your experience to accelerate progress in projects where direction is unclear or stakes are high.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with POs, engineers, and other stakeholders to co-create and validate solutions.
  • Ensure the design intent is clearly communicated, understood, and implemented as envisioned.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-regional teams to prioritize and implement design refinements, ensuring iterative improvements are aligned with user needs and business goals.

Quality, Testing and Validation

  • Establish practices for visual QA, bug triage, and consistent adherence to design standards.
  • Leverage user feedback and behavior data to drive iterative improvements and maintain a high-quality experience.

Documentation and Design Support

  • Maintain detailed, accessible documentation for UI architecture, key flows, and interaction patterns.
  • Act as a reliable design partner for developers by answering questions, clarifying interactions, and reviewing implementations.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent from a related field

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in UI/UX design with a proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing design team

  • Proficiency in design tools including Figma and industry-standard UX research and prototyping tools

  • Strong understanding of usability principles, user-centered design practices, and accessibility standards.

  • A well-rounded ‘generalist’ mindset with the ability to work across design disciplines

  • Passion for emerging technologies with a strong drive to innovate and push design boundaries.

  • Ability to champion an AI-first mindset and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Eagerness to get out and learn from users, customers, and stakeholders

  • Strong communication skills, capable of clearly articulating design decisions and processes to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proactive team player and Willingness to work collaboratively with a cross-functional teams

  • Experience designing for best-of-breed or enterprise-grade business applications will be a plus.
