Job Description

As a Product Specialist in the Planning & Scheduling Optimization team within R&D, you will have two main areas of responsibility:  designing and maintaining of functionality included in the IFS PSO products; and providing advice and guidance to our various stakeholders.

The functional design work is focused on interpreting and analyzing business requirements to create fit-for-purpose and enterprise-grade software. Business value, usability and solution consistency are key aspects of this work.

Someone in this role uses their functional industry know-how to design and maintain the products in a way that ensures product sustainability throughout the product’s lifecycle. Product Specialists at IFS demonstrate a strong commitment to the product quality and takes proactive action to prevent issues from arising and resolve them quickly and effective when they still do occur.

To participate in design reviews and to apply sound and established software design practices and principles is part of the day-to-day work.  So is defining and using design patterns, quality metrics, test cases and best practices.

The Product Specialist will be a key bridge between the PSO team and our stakeholders.  You will engage with the various product teams, consultancy, presales, etc., to share knowledge and best practices, and provide guidance.  You will be actively involved in the PSO Centre of Excellence.

The Product Specialist at IFS continuously expands their business process domain knowledge, as well as technical knowledge and shares this knowledge to guide others.

As the Product Specialist you would be responsible for:

  • Analyzing business requirement and designing new functionality and improving the product
  • Engaging with requirement owners and other stakeholders from across the business and our customer
  • Collaborate closely with users, guiding them through product usage, sizing of hardware requirements, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage your functional industry know-how to understand the viability and value of functional request from the field.
  • Creating documentation, presentation, and training material 
  • Sharing knowledge and best practice, guiding, and training colleagues and the wider IFS Community
  • Evangelize our Products and showcase how customers would benefit from what we deliver.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working with PSO in a consulting or development capacity.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to apply expertise and technology to achieve work objectives.
  • Expertise in analytical thinking and problem-solving with a user-oriented mindset and ability to think from the user’s perspective.
  • The ability to distil complex technical ideas into solutions for a non-technical audience and producing clear, concise and actionable functional designs.
  • A university degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
