Job Description

We're on the lookout for an experienced Engineering Leader to join our Application Lifecyle Experience team.

In this role you will be responsible for giving engineering leadership to a talented team of Software Engineers/ DevOps Engineers and Designers. You will also work closely with Product and Program Managers as well as QA Leaders ensuring all aspects of the Software development lifecycle is considered in the teams you are responsible for. You will be a high-capacity individual who is capable of quickly adjusting to changing priorities and situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive engineering standards, and participate in sprint planning, estimating, and execution.
  • Foster a learning culture ensuring teams are coached and guided on a day-to-day basis in relentlessly improving engineering practices and ways of working in the teams.
  • Work with team members in setting achievable goals for personal growth and career development.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure high-quality software delivery with a 'right first-time' approach.
  • Contribute to recruitment efforts, perform appraisals and be involved in salary setting discussions.

Qualifications

  • University degree, in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Coming from a Software Architect or Software Engineering Team Lead Background
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile Development practices, DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Familiar with React, Angular, Docker, Kubernetes and Kafka
  • Expertise with code quality and security concepts and tools
  • Experience in planning & forecasting skills.
  • Experience working with development teams to deliver complex software using Agile methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for innovation & new ideas.
  • Proactively taking initiative & responsibility.
  • Previous Experience in leading globally distributed teams with people management responsibility will be an added advantage.
