We are seeking a talented Intern Software Engineer who is looking to be part of a diverse and highly skilled CE team utilizing leading edge technologies. CE, short for Customer Engagement, is an omni-channel contact center solution which can be used to provide faster, smarter customer service.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to work on mission critical high-performance components and to gain experience of many leading-edge technologies.

As an Intern Software Engineer you will gain hands-on experience of designing, developing and maintaining software included in IFS products. The role is focused on interpreting and analyzing functional and technical requirements to create fit-for-purpose and enterprise-grade software. Stability, performance, maintainability, usability and security are key aspects of this role.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

• Participate in the full R&D lifecycle of our products including design, development, testing, bug fixing, documentation and 3rd line support
• Produce clear high-level design documentation for new features or enhancements and accurate development estimates
• Write robust high-quality documented code (C#, T-SQL and PowerShell) adhering to the most appropriate coding practices
• Profile and optimize code to maximize performance and minimize resource utilization
• Produce clear release documentation
• Assist with unit and system testing
• Provide 3rd line technical support
• Participate in peer design and code reviews
• Share knowledge, guide and train colleagues
• Be an active member of the team
• Contribute to improvements in IFS products, services and processes.

Overall Required Competence

To be a successful Intern Software Engineer at IFS your mindset will be the key factor, but we would prefer you to to be a student in a relevant academic degree (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) preferably in software engineering.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide evidence of the following qualities and characteristics:

• Experience of, or interest in, developing scalable distributed applications
• Familiarity with .NET
• A good knowledge of SQL
• An understanding of TDD / BDD
• Familiarity within the Visual Studio environment
