Job Description

The Director of Consulting Delivery – Utilities - is responsible for managing a team of functional / technical consultants and solution architects.  This person will provide leadership to ensure effective and efficient delivery from the team, ensuring global consistency, market unit alignment and meeting performance objectives for a set of defined practices. This position is a key stakeholder for the VP of Service Delivery – Utilities and Regional Customer Success teams, being accountable for ensuring our practices and employees continue to develop, evolve, and deliver more value to our customers during implementation and post deployment solution optimization activities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.       

  • Line Management of functional / technical/solution resources within the region.
  • Provide thought and inspirational leadership to the team and relevant practice.
  • Support people management (headcount allocation, recruitment, performance management, geographic coverage) and investment decisions within the practices and disciplines.
  • Coach and Mentor team members, developing their skills and competencies to increase productivity and performance, assisting team members to achieve career growth.
  • Analyze organizational operations and develop strategies to improve efficiency and predictability of the outcomes
  • Ensure that we have enabled functional / technical experts within the disciplines to thrive in Customer facing scenarios.
  • Responsible for adherence to global professional practices that engage holistically across the Customer Life Cycle and drives quality through predictable outcomes and results.
  • Identify and address attitude and behavioral problems, deal with grievances, and resolve conflicts.
  • Work together with VP Service Delivery and Success to ensure that the people-performance aspects are managed and geared towards effective and efficient delivery execution from the team
  • Create and nurture a collaborative work environment and promote trust, agility, quality, and integrity as core values across the team.
  • Administrate attendance, leave plans, time/cost reporting, etc., inclusive of and keeping systems and records up to date.
  • Be a part of the recruitment process in terms of designing job specifications, candidate filtering and participating in interviews. Assist with career day programs conducted in the state/private universities as and when required.
  • Secure regional long-term cost efficiency through an appropriate resource mix (onshore, nearshore and offshore). With direct IFS staffing as well as through our Partner network
  • Manage the Partner enablement process and put together processes, tools and allocation of people to help ensure we get to a predictable outcome for consulting work delivered through our partners.
  • Support Partner Success Management in assisting partners during partner deliveries where best practice content can help. Further, build staff augmentation arrangements with partners to be able to flex the consulting pool and respond to peak demand situations
  • Identify/escalate/mitigate risks that affect effective delivery execution within the practice; works together with relevant management to mitigate such risks
  • Help drive the regional transition to a Customer Success centric organization in the functional / technical disciplines.
  • Establish a trusted advisor relationship with the Regional Customer Success teams and help drive continued value for our customers.
  • Ensure regional performance metrics (KPIs) are accurately measured and met whilst protecting the integrity of the Customer Services Organization.
  • Working collaboratively with the Directors, GCD from other regions, plan and execute a strategy within the practices to develop competence, increase quality and velocity of activities delivered by experts within the practices.

Qualifications

  • The Director is a result orientated individual with a track-record of high-performance management of teams.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of the practices they are managing and be able to talk and present to a high standard on the relevant topics.
  • Must be very competent at making strategic decisions and prioritizing evolving business needs as required.
  • Maintain a positive can-do approach to resource conflicts and escalations
  • Must have a track record of developing (hiring, coaching, performance managing) individuals and building successful teams.
  • Good C-Level communication (both internal and external)
  • Drive disciplines, quality and consistency of performance and process through the practices.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, decentralized, geographically and culturally diverse teams.
  • Self-driven and proactive in nature and passionately curious to learn about the industry, solution, and business value our services can provide.
  • Remain familiar and up to date with all aspects of the Services portfolio and be able to communicate this effectively.
  • Ensure GCD contribute towards a predictable and profitable business for IFS

Additional Information

In addition, you will:

  • 5+ years of experience including managing a consulting team and in interacting with customers. 
  • Excellent situational awareness capabilities and have proven ability to navigate through customer escalations.  
  • Comfortable working across multiple functions and geographical locations in a deadline driven environment. 
  • Open to travelling as required
