Job Description

Business Architect (BA) is specialized in working with Enterprise and Defence customers to define the value that they would derive from investments in IFS Solutions. The SBA will have a critical role in the IFS organization to support the conception of a unique customer value proposition, driving the development of a supporting business case and being able to evangelize and present the business value to key contacts including C-Level management – internally and externally. 

For this specific role, we require a highly experienced BA who will be a key extension of the ANZ Sales Team reporting to the ANZ Pre Sales Director and have a dotted reporting line to the APJMEA Chief Technology Officer and VP Aerospace & Defence APJMEA. The BA will primarily have an ANZ remit and will be required to support key related to Aerospace & Defence customer engagements from a coaching/mentoring and delivery perspective. There may also be opportunities to engage in other key regional pursuits. This role will also require the BA to support Strategic IFS initiatives and Transformational Programmes, e.g. the build and rollout of the IFS Defence and Aerospace domain expertise and strong relationships within the Aerospace & Defence community in ANZ.

The role would ideally suit a candidate who has been heavily involved in engineering, logistics/sustainability, heavy engineering, asset planning and maintenance within the ANZ Defence Forces (Navy, Airforce, Army), associated suppliers or a strong MRO background with Civil aviation.

Business Architect – Accountabilities

-          Participate in product presentations with prospects and customers with a focus on the business value delivered

-          Provide relevant domain expertise and context to asset and MRO focused customer opportunities related to the management and support of key assets

-          Provide answers to (architecture / business) questions in a Request for Information (RFI) or a Request for Proposal (RFP)

-          Working with the sales organisation to address business needs for the customers

-          Work to understand the wider architecture of the customer environment, looking for additional value IFS could add with an extended solution

-          Ensure discipline of excellence and passion to every customer engagement

-          Support at external and internal customer facing events

-          Ensure the successful delivery of Proof of Concepts (POC) is tied to the customers’ success criteria and business initiatives

-          Maintain a degree of knowledge of specific IFS products and services including roadmaps and occasional liaison with Product Management. 

-          Use the knowledge and/or the understanding of the major customers’ requirement to provide and/or propose commercially and viable product/solution improvement feedbacks

-          Ensure that a business case or strawman business case is created where possible (Value Engineering)

-          Use discovery and questioning skills to ensure any wider issues are understood, for example integration into other customer systems, single sign on concerns, etc.

-          Engage in problem solving approaches with clients, run workshops to discover and design creative solutions to problems. This is likely to include a complete system design which includes technology or problems alongside the normal IFS product. Problem solving and solution creation rather than a focus on product delivery.

-          Discuss and demonstrate business benefits and value to a customer of a technical solution.

-          Translate technical and business requirements into cost-efficient solution for a complete customer problem solve - not just our product

-          Use financial modelling and terminology used in the creation of business cases both internally and with prospects, clients and partners.

-          Lead teams and work with senior stakeholders in customers to help create customer internal business cases, discover problems, design solutions that are complete, not just IFS product - but including wider integration concerns.

-          Oversee the qualification and bid management process to ensure that IFS is bidding for business that it can win

-          Maintain a strong degree of knowledge of all products and services including roadmaps and regular liaison with Product Management

-          Ensure the successful delivery of Proof of Concepts(POC) that are tied to the customers’ success criteria and business initiatives - driving a value message at all times

-          Use the knowledge and/or the understanding of the major customers’ requirement to provide and/or propose commercially and viable product/solution improvement feedbacks of large and complex customer requirements – involving senior management where needed

-          Stay abreast of key industry and business issues, options and advancements relevant to the area of specialization

-          Ensure that a wider understanding of the customers business landscape is in place

-          Work to understand the wider architecture of the customer environment, looking for additional value IFS could add with an extended solution

-          Promote cross-team based working and sharing of business value cases across teams

 

Qualifications

A Business Architect would be expected to have very good understanding of the following areas:

·Market characteristic, competition, trends and drivers in the target industries (Manufacturing, Engineering and Construction, Energy, Utilities and Resources)

·Language of the industry and best practice solutions to their specific needs

·Business Value Selling\Engineering

·C-Level Engagement

·Financial Process Management

·IFS products and process portfolios (possibilities and limitations)

·The IFS Solution Implementation Methodology

·IFS Application Quality Standards (AQS)

·How to drive workshops e.g. presentation, organizational, and documentation skills

·New technologies and digitalization within IFS

·Appreciation and active observance of IFS Values

Additional Information

Essential:

·An academic background in engineering, Business or IT (or equivalent experience)

·Experience delivering ERP/EAM/MRO projects in a relevant industry setting, preferably in a similar role

·Deep knowledge with target industries (Manufacturing, Engineering and Construction, Energy, Utilities and Resources) in terms of trends, drivers, challenges and best practice

·Experience in value selling/solution selling and Business case creation and ROI articulate

·Experiences in managing all levels of management in the customer organization to achieve project success

·Experience and ability to help customers to prioritize business requirements to meet budget and timing constraint

·Ability to articulate and explain technologies with business acumen

·Ability to travel nationally and internationally where required

·Excellent communication skills

·Fluent in English

·Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

·Good organizational skills

 

Desirable:

·Strategic Program Certifications, such as Six Sigma Black Belt

·Business Process Certifications, such as APICS, CPIM

·Previous experience in consulting services

·Solid knowledge of IFS products, or similar ERP/EAM/FSM main players solutions

·Solid experience on domain functional expertise as Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Maintenance, MRO, Services Management and so on

·Participation in implementation of IFS products

·Specific industry knowledge from target industries (Manufacturing, Engineering and Construction, Energy, Utilities and Resources)

·Formal Project Management training and certifications (such as Project Management Institute, Prince 2, IPMA and so on)
