Job Description

A software engineer at IFS designs, develops and maintains software included in IFS products. This work is focused on interpreting and analyzing functional and technical requirements to create fit-for-purpose and enterprise-grade software.

Usability, maintainability, security and performance are key aspects of this work. Someone in this role uses their technical know-how to develop and maintain the products in a way that ensures product sustainability throughout the product’s lifecycle.

Software engineers at IFS demonstrates a strong commitment to the product quality and takes proactive action to prevent issues from arising and resolve them quickly and effective when they still do occur. To participate in design/code reviews and to apply sound and established software engineering practices and principles is part of the day-to-day work. So is defining and using design patterns, quality metrics, test cases and best practices.

A software engineer at IFS continuously expands their functional and technical domain knowledge and shares this knowledge to guide others. As a systems engineer you will be required to apply and demonstrate engineering excellence across all aspects of the role.

Working within the PX function you will engage and collaborate with multiple enterprise engineering teams across the organisation to support engineering activities in and around the IFS Cloud portfolio.

The role requires engineering work spanning investigation, design and delivery with the end objective being a quality focused experience to the end customer. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working with one or more of the following Cloud Native technologies:

  • JavaScript
  • Python
  • Bash
  • Microsoft Azure
  • AKS (Azure Kubernetes)
  • GitLab / GitLab Runner
  • Terraform
  • Jenkins
  • Ansible
  • HELM

Desired additional skills/experience include the following:

  • Oracle db Management / Oracle db Technologies
  • PL/SQL
  • C# / .Net Core
  • JFrog Artifactory

 

Qualifications

Essential: 

  • University degree, equivalent professional qualifications or a proven track record of delivery in a field relevant for the functional area or responsibility. 

  • Broad operational understanding of technology organizations which incorporate product and services, including functions, processes and systems. 

  • Able to co-ordinate, empathize, persuade and understand across a broad range of disciplines to create shared understanding and ensure delivery of agreed accountabilities.
