Job Description

At IDIQ, Sr DevOps Engineer are responsible for keeping all user-facing services and other IDIQ production systems running smoothly. The ideal candidate is a blend of a pragmatic operator and software craftsman that applies sound engineering principles, operational discipline, and mature automation to our environments and the IDIQ codebase.

IDIQ, Sr DevOps Engineer’s will help design, plan, and implement improvements to our infrastructure and processes and will work alongside a group of technical decision makers, Product Managers and Solutions Architects. Sr DevOps Engineer role include providing input and expertise into tool selection and ongoing improvements in Pipelining, CI/CD, road maps, and Automations.

Objectives of this Role

  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
  • Ensuring security is at the core of the deployed infrastructure and products.
  • Design, testing, provisioning, configuration, and management of Google Cloud Platform.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.
  • Driving innovation by researching and recommending industry-leading tools and best practices.
  • Support and oversee third-party dependency management across the product stack from the point of view of vulnerability, licensing, and versioning.
  • Building automation, tooling and self-service capabilities for the infrastructure provisioning and maintenance.
  • Gather and analyse metrics from applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science.
  • Minimum of 7 years of profession experience in Technology.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in DevOps.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS
  • Experience with build tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins
  • In-depth knowledge of key GCP services GCE, GKE, GAE, GCS, Cloud SQL, VPC, Resource Manager, Stack Driver, Cloud CDN, Cloud IAM.
  • Excellent Experience in Automating infrastructure by using Shell/Bash/ Python.
  • Experience with open technologies and Infrastructure as Code “IaC” tools, including Terraform/Ansible.
  • Extensive coding/scripting and debugging experience for building/integrating systems & solutions.
  • Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3, Google Cloud Storage as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
  • Ensure team collaboration using Jira, Confluence, and other tools.

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer Certification at the professional level.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Experience managing operations monitoring and alerting systems (OpsGenie)
  • Log management and review.
  • Issue troubleshooting experience.

Additional Information

Position Details: 

This is an exempt position (40 hours+ /week) and is not eligible for overtime. You will participate in a Managed Objective Bonus program. Days of work are Monday through Friday 9:30 am to 6:00 pm IST or as scheduled by your supervisor.
