Job Summary

The Chief of Staff will report and serve as an advisor and trusted partner to the Chief Lending Officer “CLO” and help manage organizational priorities and support multiple efforts across the division. The Chief of Staff will work across multiple levels of the bank to drive key organization-wide priorities and keep the CLO up-to-date with key updates. The Chief of Staff will assist in developing sales and business development processes in support of the Commercial Bank's products and services, collaborating with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure implementation and execution. IDB is looking for a dynamic individual capable of driving the processes, liaison with line and senior management, and ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines. Must have a high level of autonomy, creative thinking, and discretion to advance priorities and effectively leverage the CLO's time. We are seeking an individual with Commercial Bank Lending Chief of Staff experience (Middle Market, Commercial Real Estate) with a knowledge of complimentary cross sell products.

Job Description

Directs and oversees the Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), which encompasses the planning, organizing, and managing of resources to bring about the successful completion of specific projects goals and objectives. This includes defining project scope of work, developing detailed project plans, establishing milestones and defining the resources/funding required. This position will maintain a strong alignment with the Commercial Banking and USPB leadership team to enhance internal cross sales capabilities and efforts.

  • Conducts scoping sessions and assists in the creation of work and proposal statements. This may include providing technical approaches, tasks, deliverables, work estimates, assumptions, dependencies, etc.
  • Be a liaison for inter and intra departmental relationships and be a delegate for CLO in meetings as necessary
  • Evaluates the scope and complexity of projects and programs and implements the necessary resources to ensure adherence to policies and procedures. This includes preparing detailed project plans, allocating staff and establishing budget requirements.
  • Develops and monitors schedules to ensure that projects are completed within established deadlines.
  • Leads status meetings, tracks and maintains detailed issues and risks lists, prepares appropriate project meeting minutes and status reports. Meets regularly with other related application support areas to ensure that integration issues are identified and addressed.
  • Lead and/or coordinate drafting of the CLO's internal communications and responding on behalf of the CLO to issues that arise internally.
  • Assist in developing sales and business development processes in support of the Commercial Bank's products and services, collaborating with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure implementation and execution.
  • Assists Project Management Office with project methodology deployment, process reengineering and evaluation procedures
  • Interfaces with all levels of business, technical management staff, and project teams to facilitate problem and competing priorities resolution.

Qualifications

 

  • 8 + years of relevant work experience in Commercial Banking required
  • A degree in a field relevant to Finance is desirable
  • Experience with Salesforce (CRM), tracking projects, organizing processes and reporting is essential
  • Experience with project management tools and other CRM tools (HubSpot) are a plus.
  • Strong experience with MS Office, particularly PowerPoint; ability to quickly create presentations for senior management.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnership with senior management and clients.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong creative solution and problem-solving skills, flexible to changing business priorities and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking, self-directed, proactive and creative.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage, prioritize, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Exemplary in communication, presentation and time-management skills
  • Experience working with Customer Service Representatives and/or Cash Management/Wire processes and training a plus.
  • Experience and comfort interacting across levels of an organization, including board members and senior executives.

Compensation

The expected annual salary for this position is between $160,000 and $200,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individual’s skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
