Company Description
Essex Global Investment Partners is a newly incorporated and closed-ended investment management firm. Founded in 2016, the firm has been established in order to manage a UCITS investment portfolio on behalf of a retail and institutional client base through the use of actively managed portfolio strategies, conducting bespoke in-house research, and investing principally in international public equity markets. The majority of these investments will consist of thematic or impact investments, with an extended focus on renewables, cleantech, sustainability, and governance. The company is a group entity with £21mm of share capital, structured as a special purpose vehicle, and which is wholly-owned by a parent company and consultancy.
Job Description
The investment management company is currently onboarding its first proprietary sub-fund which will be a non-UCITS investment vehicle (“ICVC”). As an unlisted product offering under the AIFMD regulation, this fund will be the perfect opportunity for someone with relevant experience in management to enhance key qualities while adding to their immediate portfolio of assets under management. We are looking for an experienced multi-asset fund manager to help steer the strategy of the company’s principal fund, the Essex Global ESG Mutual Fund, its sister funds, and their respective investment policies. The successful candidate will be an experienced alternative investment professional with previous exposure to ESG portfolio management in either a large hedge fund or investment manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Client-facing responsibilities including investor relations, partnerships & new business development
- Drafting legally binding documentation as required by PRIIPS, AIFMD, and other supervisory provisions
- Ensuring adequate execution of the executive committee investment policy in relation to share capital ad any other assets held by the company
- Ensuring annual statutory accounts are adequately published in a timely and formatted as per IFRS accounting standards
- Fulfilling the requirements of exchange membership for relevant sub-funds, maintaining interaction with investors and the general public
- Regulatory on-boarding and compliance responsibilities, particularly those in-scope of AIFMD and UCITS
- Any reasonable responsibility that may arise from time to time as defined by the management company
Qualifications
- Senior investment management experience
- Prior experience in venture capital or private equity (cleantech and renewables)
- An intimate understanding of workplace diversity & inclusion
- Chartered Financial Analyst (Level 3) qualification
- Approved Person (CF21 or CF30) for Controlled Functions
