Job Description
Arcadis Building Structural Group is working on multiple projects including buildings and subway stations in western provinces of Canada. We are looking for a licensed Structural Engineer in Alberta to join our team. You will be engaged to structural design on buildings, industrial plants, and subway/LRT underground stations. You will also work on construction support as project needs. This role will require a significant amount of time dedicated to working in design environment, meeting with project stakeholders, and clients.

Working within our Design and Engineering teams, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening up public places that bring people together.
Role accountabilities:
- Lead structural design team to achieve project successful delivery.
- Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and clients.
- Carry out structural modeling, analysis, and design.
- Prepare and review structural reports and drawings.
- Review construction submittal.
- Identify structural deficiency, provide remedial options.
- Review of constructability, staging drawings, construction schedule and cost estimate.
- Work with construction team and discuss the best solutions.
- Attend meetings with clients and Stakeholders as needed and when required.
- Coordinate Engineering and commercial issues with the construction team.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum University Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Registration with APEGA as a P.Eng.
- 8+ years of experience in structural design projects including buildings; experience in underground structures will be an asset.
- Design experience with complex building.
- Proficient knowledge on building codes and standards.
- Strong communication, and negotiation skills with an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; able to independently write reports and correspondence.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong design and construction support coordination skills.
- Must be proficient in structural analysis softwares, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Acrobat/Bluebeam (redlines/comments).
- Must be able to work in design environment and on site and travel to project site.
