Arcadis' Toronto West office is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team.

Role accountabilities:

  • Design and engineer industrial systems such as compressed air, lubrication, fueling  system
  • Ability to express design intent as concept drawings or sketches
  • Computerized analysis of heating and cooling loads
  • Design and engineer building related systems such as HVAC, process exhaust, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, etc.
  • Design and machine installation utilities
  • Conceptualize and Prepare industrial layouts
  • Develop and write engineering study reports
  • Know applicable codes and apply to design development
  • Energy analysis using computer modeling
  • Verification of and compliance with energy standard
  • Responsible for production of construction documents and construction administration for projects
  • Develop man-hours for proposal estimates
  • Make technical presentation to clients
  • Develop business with current and new clients
  • Involvement in engineering societies
  • Coordination of staffing needs for projects
  • Provide technical training/education to staff

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 - 10 years experience in Mechanical design of industrial, and transit facilities
  • A strong background in industrial / automotive facilities and areas is an asset. Licensed member of PEO (P. Eng.) preferred Well versed in AutoCAD MEP, Micro Station, Revit, 3D software, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and client interaction
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments
  • Ability to provide leadership to groups of engineers and designers on projects
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship. Demonstrated experience working with clients, contractors and other consultants
  • Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA and ASHRAE standards and familiarity with, TSSA Fuel, industrial ventilation standards and other industrial  standards
