Arcadis is growing!  Arcadis Canada is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to join our Infrastructure-Transportation Planning team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  This role sits within the  Global Mobility Business Area. Transportation planning specialist is to lead/manage transportation and rapid/public transit planning activities and to contribute to the overall transportation planning practice by working on major rapid transit and transportation projects around the GTHA and Canada. The range of work includes transportation and transit master plans, transportation infrastructure project feasibility and planning and implementation plans, transportation economics and equity, among other areas.

Role accountabilities:

• Manage/lead transportation studies including supervising staff and undertaking and overseeing project tasks.
• Conduct transportation planning tasks including network analysis, data analysis, policy analysis and operations analysis, and development of transportation plans and policies.
• Assist on major transit/transportation studies, involving the need and justification for new transportation projects, analysis of alternatives, transportation system/network planning and operations, transportation master plans, new mobility choices, and sustainable transportation.
• Attend meetings including chairing meetings, communicating with and responding to client requests, and making presentations

Qualifications & Experience:

• Post-secondary education
• 7 or more years of related public transit/transportation experience in the work environment 
• Experience in leading transportation/transit plans for public transportation and transit agencies
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work with project or study teams 
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
• Innovative and motivated individual willing to take initiative and interested in seeking solutions to complex problems in a team environment
