Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a talented and experienced software team lead to oversee a small team of technical staff in the delivery of a variety of projects. The right candidate will play a critical role in the delivery of world class tolling and revenue software systems to clients in North America and overseas.

Most of the things you'll work on:

• Lead a cross-functional team in the delivery of complex production software systems. This role would be approximately 75% software development and 25% people/project management
• In collaboration with other directors and project managers, gain an understanding of requirements and lead a software team in execution and delivery
• Take a lead role in technology stack evaluations and decisions
• Drive continuous improvement on the team in the areas of quality, efficiency and operational excellence and foster a culture of trust and accountability
• Participate in team management activities and sprint/project planning
• Identify areas of technical debt and gaps in both the software system and team makeup and make recommendations on how to resolve
• Collaborate with product manager(s) and other leads to understand and contribute to product roadmaps
• Monitor and report on projects, key milestones and KPIs

You'll need to have:

• 5-10 years of  experience in software development with at least one year in some sort of lead capacity
• Ability to lead a software team with a variety of experience levels and provide mentorship and guidance
• A solid understanding of software development and deployment principles
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
• High levels of initiative and resourcefulness/creative thinking

Would be great if you had:

• Experience with the following:
  • PHP 8.x
  • Vue, React or Angular – especially Vue3 using the composition API
  • Laravel or similar MVC frameworks like Django, Ruby on Rails or ASP .NET
  • TypeScript
  • Any flavour of SQL
  • Event based systems
  • Linux/command line tools
• Diploma or degree in a technology related field
• Experience in a consulting or agency setting
• Experience in cloud provisioning, management and governance
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices
