Job Description
We are thrilled to announce our search is on for a talented LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT to join our AWARD-WINNING Placemaking Studio in Toronto.
In this role you will support the design and implementation of a diverse range of projects including master planning, civic plazas, urban parks, hospital campuses, streetscapes, cycling infrastructure and residential communities to mention a few. You believe in achieving design excellence in all your designs. Be part of defining the cities of tomorrow!
As part of the Placemaking Team, you will be part of a fast-paced dynamic environment creating contemporary, inclusive, responsive, sustainable public and private high-quality spaces. You will be involved in all phases of the project from master planning, consultation, conceptual design through to detailed design and contract administration.

Most Of The Things You'll Be Working On:
- Collaborate with the Team in the definition of a project’s vision and direction. Work with Senior Landscape Architects and multidisciplinary Teams to design creative, context-sensitive urban environments to support public and private sector projects
- Contribute to the development of draft conceptual urban design, placemaking, and open space schemes, approaches, and tactics
- Develop key open space, building, or mobility-related details elements that define and give meaning to a project
- Draft explanatory diagrams, sketches, and perspectives related to urban form, massing, mobility, and open spaces
- Conduct tree inventory and analysis, preparing tree preservation plans and writing Arborist reports
- Assist in the development of design briefs, outlines, technical reports, layouts, and content for project deliverables (presentations, reports, etc.)
- Participate in project-related meetings, site visits and events, leading or facilitating design-related conversations
- Support, assist and coordinate elements of Contract Administration
- Perform site inspections
Qualifications
You'll Need To Have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution within the field of Landscape Architecture - Member or Associate Member of OALA is preferred;
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant working experience in a professional design firm;
- Strong Arboriculture skills. Certified Arborist is considered an asset;
- Understanding of project development, design development and construction project process including: site design, planting design, site grading and construction detailing
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of assisting in the preparation of reports and developing design narratives under the direction of a Senior Landscape Architect;
- Experience in preparation of construction documentation;
- Proficiency in the latest version of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp;
- Revit, Rhino or proficiency with other BIM or modelling tools is considered an asset;
