Job Description

Here’s how we work:

IBI Group’s Raleigh NC office is searching for a BIM Coordinator Specialist to join its growing team.  The coordinator will have no direct reports and will be facilitating the BIM production team liaising with various discipline groups that focusing on MEP, but also supporting Architectural, and Civil groups. In addition, the coordinator will be part of a global network of office-focused BIM leaders under a Regional Design Technology Leader, governed by IBI’s Global Director for Design Technology.  This coordinator would be part of an overall mission focusing on cross-sector synergy (between Intelligence, Buildings and Infrastructure) empowering global work-sharing, standardization and optimization, as well as shepherding cross-sector collaboration and data harnessing throughout a project’s lifecycle.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

  • Provide in house AutoCAD / Revit technical support for MEP engineering staff
  • Maintain a high level of standards for all projects throughout the company
  • Provide training for all staff
  • Gather industry best practices in Revit operations
  • Create, distribute and maintain procedures to improve consistency between offices
  • Engage with project team to proactively leverage technology such as Revit and BIM to identify and resolve problems
  • Provide guidance to Senior Engineers to guide Revit operations to improve consistency, coordination and efficiency
  • Maintain relationships with clients regarding 3D coordination of documents/models.
  • Setup architectural backgrounds for MEP design use
  • Organize and maintain content libraries
  • Act in a leadership capacity to assist the BIM Team for both Design and Production  • Maintain constant communication with the Canada East and USA East Regional BIM Leads to ensure bi-direction communication between staff and the region.  

Qualifications

You'll need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience using Revit designing or supporting MEP systems design
  • 2+ years of experience working for a MEP firm as BIM Support Technician
  • Ability to develop new custom family content with parameters for use in automated schedules
  • Must be knowledgeable about lisp routines / macros
  • Familiarity of Autodesk Navisworks
  • Experience with CTC MEPPP a plus
