IBI Group:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Architect to join our growing team. IBI Group employs c250 specialists across the UK and 2,500 globally and we are now keen to engage with a high calibre Architect who will enjoy the support of a successful organisation and work alongside experienced colleagues.
This challenge will give you the opportunity to focus on a range of projects for a growing, diverse client base. In this position, you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.
You’ll be leading and coordinating the design & construction phases of projects of varying size, delivering high quality architectural solutions, primarily in the Healthcare sector.
IBI Group in Manchester:
Our office in Manchester is located in Didsbury (M20) and is one of nine IBI offices across the UK. We are served by a variety of transport links as well as having ample local parking available.
The Studio currently totals 70 staff comprising Architectural Assistants, Technicians. Landscape Architects and Senior Architects, each focussing on a range of Healthcare, Education, Judiciary, Mixed Use and Urban Design projects locally, across the UK and Internationally.
Our team enjoys a regular range of social events and supports the local community by mentoring local school and university students annually. We’ve won various industry awards including a recent prestigious Urban Design Group Award for our going regeneration project in Barnsley.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting and leading on projects with responsibility for programme and budget management, effective time and resources management whilst also promoting best practice & knowledge across the Studio
- Coordinating contract documents, design / consulting teams and seeing projects through to completion (contract administration)
- Involvement in all aspects of projects: design development, working drawings, contract administration and on site services
- Managing multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with other disciplines
- Leading elements of large / complex projects or small projects independently, working with / without a team
- Managing client relationships and team communication (including project teams and budgets)
- Resolving complex technical and design issues
- Maintaining project documentation, drawings and specifications
- Conducting on-site inspections and documenting site reviews
- Processing change control requests during construction and addressing RFI
- Interfacing with statutory authorities during the design and construction phases of the project
- Developing and promoting excellent people management practices
- Understanding and adhering to procedures including quality management and environmental management systems and health & safety
- Contributing to business development activities of the Studio and overall practice
- Supporting in the preparation of proposals, submissions and presentations
- Promoting the use and continuous development of appropriate systems, procedures and protocols
Qualifications
- RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered
- Ideally a background across UK projects in Healthcare
- Experience of working on larger projects as part of a team and day to day leadership of smaller projects across all stages from inception to on site activity
- A working knowledge of Revit and BIM experience
- Naturally you’ll have a strong knowledge of Building Regulations, design standards and best practice
- Strong leadership, organisational, communication and relationship-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
