Here’s how we work:

IBI Group's Vancouver office is searching for an Architect to join its growing team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with our Institutional group.

Most of the things you’ll work on:

• Coordinate sub-consultants engineers and prepare technical working drawings
• Work with clients and user groups to develop concepts during schematic design and design development meetings
• Develop and nurture external relationships, in particular with client, consultants and contractors
• Contribute to the delivery of projects to meet client expectations
• Co-ordinate the design, construction and management of projects, including liaising with clients, Statutory Authorities, Contractors, Suppliers and Consultants.
• Contribute to the delivery of high quality architecture, fulfilling the design aspirations of the practice
• Lead elements of major and complex projects or small projects independently both with and without a supporting team
• Manage resources and activities of the team(s)
• Support the Manager and Associate Directors within the office
• Contribute to the business development activities of the department and office
• Support in the preparation of proposals, submissions and presentations

You'll need to have:

• Minimum of 5+ years of  related experience as an Architect/Technologist, with a focus on institutional work 
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture and/or a recognized Institution by the AIBC
• Must be registered with the AIBC, or eligible to be registered in the province of British Columbia
• Canadian experience is a must
• Experience in British Columbia is preferred 
• A deep understanding of how to put together a set of construction documents that provides clarity to those that implement them
• An understanding and application of the broader design objectives while developing the details;
• Strong graphic and organizational skills
• A high level of proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Ability to work independently and through collaboration and co-creation with others
• A understanding of the BC Building Code and its application to construction detailing
• Demonstrated background of experience detailing larger scale institutional buildings, both new and renovations

The office is located in the heart of downtown Vancouver overlooking the beautiful and scenic Coal Harbour. An abundance of amenities like: restaurants, cafes, a pharmacy, and so much more seconds away from the office. Quite accessible by public transit, bike, and by car.
