Job Description
Position Summary:
This role is based in our Newark office and within our GIS (Geographic Information Systems) business working on our RouteMapper product – IBI Group’s Mobile Mapping system. RouteMapper provides a powerful combination of high-resolution digital imagery and LiDAR with inertial positioning.
The end product enables our clients to perform a vast range of surveys and inspections in an office environment and RouteMapper surveys have been performed for government agencies, local authorities, maintaining agents, rail and bus operators, telecommunications companies and airport authorities throughout Europe, North America, Middle East, and Asia.
The operator is to be responsible for the collection of GPS data, digital images and LiDAR 3D scans on the live road network. The successful candidate will be comfortable with the independent nature of the role, running the vehicle and managing a driver for several days away from the office.
Training will be provided in the specific use of the equipment and software for data collection including the GPS / IMU navigation systems, cameras and the Laser system. Prior knowledge of any of these types of systems would however be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
Survey planning
- Survey Planning
- Project logistics
- Sensor operations
- QA of collected data
- Packaging of disks for delivery to processing teams
- Driving duties and security aspects of the vehicle mounted system
Qualifications
- HND / HNC or equivalent in Land Surveying / Civil Engineering would be beneficial
- Knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines; LiDAR acquisition technology, Inertial Navigation / Global Positioning, GIS systems or imagery collection
