The role:

We thrive on solving problems by combining logic and creativity. Our professionals are able to invent, explore and question in order to tackle the big issues facing the transport industry today. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on unique, leading-edge projects which influence the way networks are operated, managed and maintained.

IBI Group’s is searching for mid-level consultants to join our Intelligence sector team. Working with a range of clients, such as the Highways England, Transport for West Midlands and Transport Scotland, you will be engaged on projects relating to transport operations, systems and technology, intelligent mobility, and smart and future cities. Typical projects range from research, studies, strategies and design through to the development, implementation and operation of our systems and solutions.  The role could be based in either Bristol or Birmingham.

We are looking for someone who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is able to organise themselves and others, who takes pride in the quality of their work and is familiar with working in a project environment. Knowledge of transport and the highway sector in particular, is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

•    Performing data analysis and research
•    Conducting business and systems requirements analysis
•    Writing position papers and reports and presenting the key findings to colleagues and clients
•    Task management and project coordination
•    Working with project teams providing consultancy, liaison and support, internally and directly with clients

Qualifications

•    A good Bachelors’ with honours or Masters’ degree in an engineering, scientific, numerate / technical discipline or equivalent operational, asset management or project delivery experience
•    A minimum of five years professional experience
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences is a must
•    Ability to use standard Microsoft Office tools with confidence
•    Experience of Project Management; including scheduling, estimating, cost control, risk management and project planning
•    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•    Relevant industry experience in transport operations, technology or planning will be an advantage
