Job Description

The role:

The UK&I region within IBI Group encompasses 10 studios contributing to IBI Group’s standing as one of the top ten largest architectural practices in the world. IBI Group is a design led practice capable of delivering complex, high profile projects of all scales and we demonstrate the genuine improvements our designs make through IBI THiNK, our in house R&D programme.

IBI Group’s award winning Cardiff office is searching for qualified Architects to join the team. IBI Group employs c250 specialists across the UK and 2,500 globally - our Studio in central Cardiff is expanding and we are keen to engage with high calibre architectural talent that will enjoy the support of a successful organisation and work alongside experienced colleagues.

This challenge will give you the opportunity to draw on your client facing experience and lead on various projects and bids within the Healthcare sector. You’ll be joining one of the UK’s largest and most successful Healthcare Architecture firms and have specific responsibility across South Wales and the South West of England.

Responsibilities:

  • Together with bid and marketing teams, support local business development and marketing initiatives including coordinating the preparation of bids and proposals
  • Contribute to the ongoing and overall success of the sector, region and IBI Group
  • Support and strengthen IBI Group’s vision, goals and values and contributing to the practice’s national and international Healthcare teams
  • Leading on projects with responsibility for programme and budget management, effective time and resources management and promoting best practice & knowledge within the Studio
    • Additionally hands-on working on all aspects of projects: design development, working drawings, contract administration and  on site services 
  • Manage client relationships and team communication (including project teams and budgets)
  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination
  • Where necessary, lead the interface with statutory authorities during the design and construction phases of the project
  • Resolve complex design issues and embed design excellence within all of your work
  • Develop and promote excellent people management practices
  • Understand and adhere to procedures including quality management and environmental management systems and health & safety
  • Promotes the use and continuous development of appropriate systems, procedures and protocols

Qualifications

  • RIBA Part 3 qualified and ARB registered
  • Experienced Project Architect 
  • Experience of working in client facing roles delivering a range of Healthcare sector projects (acute / primary care, mental health, etc)
  • A proven and successful background in leading bids for Healthcare projects including those on UK national healthcare frameworks
  • A working knowledge of Revit and BIM experience
  • A strong knowledge of building regulations, design standards and best practice
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
