Purpose Statement: 

Support the enterprise monitoring initiative.  You will assist in the Nagios, AppDynamics, and Tivoli monitoring of Data Center and Cloud applications and infrastructure.  You will assist in the installation, provisioning, configuring, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Nagios, AppDynamics, and Tivoli components within the Data Center and also in the Cloud. You will collaborate with the engineering, development, integration, and test teams in the development of the Nagios, AppDynamics, and Tivoli platforms. This role ensures our enterprise solutions for enterprise monitoring meets requirements for accurate measurements, correlation, availability, capacity, alerting, and performance in a way that is efficient and supportable

Main Accountabilities:

Provide APM and monitoring systems support for application and system level monitoring for new initiatives as well as steady state support of existing systems.

Interface with internal customers, infrastructure teams (Storage, hardware, server, OS, network, Project Management, etc.…), Application teams, Commercial Operations team, and APM Governance/ownership team.

Nagios, AppDynamics, and Tivoli monitoring and platform assistance - including alerting and reporting.

Maintain the Nagios and Tivoli platforms. Drives performance improvements, maintains patch levels, and performs platform upgrades.

Implement Nagios, AppDynamics, and Tivoli service and app monitoring for new applications, devices, and platform components as they are added to the system.

Support the requests for new monitoring and business as usual requests for Nagios, AppDynamics, and Tivoli monitoring guidance and standards.

Knowledge, Skills,  Experience, Training, Education:

MS in Computer Science or equivalent combined work experience with a BA or BS degree in CS.

2+ years of experience with Nagios and Tivoli on a large enterprise level

Experience with Appdynamics in an enterprise level

5+ years in IT infrastructure, networking, architecture, administration, and/or java applications

Experience with one or more of the following server technologies: Java, Node.js, .NET, or PHP and BASH.

Experience with Cloud environment services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure.

Proficiency in Python scripting.

Ability to perform a variety of highly complicated tasks simultaneously.

Database platform skills

Experience with APM toolsets, including: AppDynamics, NewRelic or equivalent.

Automated build platform/continuous integration experience and knowledge.

Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks. Test-driven, unit, or automated testing development experience.

Common open source monitoring/metric software, including: Nagios, Ganglia, etc.

Common open source build software, including: GIT, Jenkins, etc.

Puppet\Ansible\Docker tool experience, managing system configurations.
