Job Description

  • Reporting to the Head of Category you will help to develop and execute strategic sourcing activities for the MRO category with the target to reduce cost and improve service levels.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships supporting them on assigned projects in accordance with the governance and in accordance with the IAG policy .
  • Working  with MRO vendor’s worldwide ensuring quality is in line with business objectives and policies
  • Driving commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance with a forward looking.
  • Managing supplier risk to protect the operating airlines from financial and reputational damage.
  • Identifying new opportunities of cost reduction through market best practices
  • Program managing complex projects with very tight deadlines.
  • Working with existing and potential suppliers, securing best price through supplier negotiations and collaboration to including benchmarking to prove competitive advantage for the business.

 

Qualifications

  • Aeronautical Engineering / Engineering or Business / Economics degree.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with minimum 5 to 10 years of experience working in the Procurement MRO business for an airline or for an OEM (candidates with no experience in the field will be rejected)
  • Senior level experience of partnering with senior leaders and executives in a fast moving and agile business environment
  • Senior level experience in Procurement in a complex global organization
  • Experience of working in an environment of change involving people, process, policy and technology
  • Strong demonstrable commercial expertise including evaluation, contract negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Strong negotiating skills with attention to the detail
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English (Spanish desirable)
  • Willingness to travel and work in a multi-site/location environment.
