Job Description

  • Supporting Indirect Tax Team Lead & GPO to ensure all legal tax obligations are met; monitor variances and identify areas of risk
  • Preparing & reviewing tax returns (direct and indirect); calculating tax liabilities and payments due
  • Verifying account balances by performing reconciliations on tax general ledger accounts
  • Providing support for tax audits and answer to inquiries from various tax jurisdictions
  • Liaising with external providers where required
  • Regularly performing audits on the system to ensure data integrity; responsible for the resolution of discrepancies that might adversely impact on the company’s tax returns
  • Providing technical tax accounting support for the team, Indirect Tax Team Lead
  • Assisting in managing any specific direct/indirect tax obligations in respective countries including support for dealing with any overseas tax authority audit/enquiries with the ability to travel where necessary
  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliations for tax reporting

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Finance, Economics or related field
  • Knowledge of European VAT law
  • Excellent analytical skills to support relevant tax claims
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage workload commitments
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision, as well as, to integrate as part of a team as necessary
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups to achieve tax risk management and compliance objectives
  • Excellent MS Excel skills as well as the use of IT systems and other applications (previous SAP experience will be an asset)
  • Minimum of 2 years tax/accounting/ finance experience with professional services firm, shared service centre or tax authority
  • Experience of working in an environment of change involving people, process, policy and technology
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, complex global organisation with finite resources
