Position Summary:
Dictionary.com is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and inquisitive marketer to drive its editorial distribution and audience development strategy. The Content Marketing Manager (can also be considered as our Traffic Acquisition Manager) will partner with the Content Strategy & Marketing Manager to develop and execute a content marketing strategy that drives rapid traffic growth. This strategy will include O&O promotions, paid acquisition, and lead generation. This role requires tenacity, risk taking, and strategic thinking. Your mandate is to test, learn, and scale using data and intuition to make sound creative and strategic decisions

Job Description

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Create a comprehensive strategy to exponentially grow and retain editorial audience
    Leverage internal and market data to influence content topics and promotional assets that will intrigue readers to visit our editorial content
  • Leverage marketing placements on Dictionary.com O&O properties to capture users attention and convert into the editorial funnel
  • Develop strategies for online engagement through email, social media, and other content marketing channels
  • Oversee B2C communications for the editorial team, including (but not limited to) email and paid acquisition campaigns
  • Develop and manage budget for paid acquisition campaigns
  • Analyze and report marketing and engagement data to track performance and derive insights that inform strategy and optimizations

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related communications field 3+ years experience in B2C marketing; experience with paid acquisition and email a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic use of social media and email, with an emphasis on content marketing
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools, social media marketing applications and email service providers; HTML experience a plus Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A hunger to create and execute a homegrown marketing strategy 
  • The ability to quickly learn and master new tools as needed
  • Constant curiosity and a desire to make data-driven decisions
  • Willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategies on the fly
  • Passion for words and language
