Since joining IAC in 2014, we have entered an investment period and are rapidly expanding our content while introducing new tools to further cater to our most sophisticated audience.
About the Markets team:
The Markets team drives the vision, design, development and optimization for the Investopedia Markets experience. As part of this team you will help investors track stock performance through the Markets homepage, watchlist, and quotes pages. You will help continue to build exciting, new, and differentiating features as we aim to quickly grow and scale this product. You will use interactive web components and timely financial data from a variety of sources to help us take our Markets experience to the next level.
Some of our recent accomplishments include:
Launched a new Investopedia Markets experience, complete with a watchlist, quotes pages, and a markets homepage so investors can better track stock performance
Launched a markets callout module on tickerized content so users can quickly add stocks to their watchlists when reading news
Launched a real world context module on markets term pages (e.g. highest P/E stocks in the S&P 500, largest market cap stocks, greatest volume stocks, etc.)
Launched optimization tests, resulting in 60% higher engagement on the markets homepage
About the Media team:
The Media team is responsible for supporting the continued growth of Investopedia through diverse and various sales, product, content and technical initiatives. The team is made up of Ad Operations experts, data analysts, designers and software developers, all working together with the same goal of not only increasing monetization, but also creating a world-class, cross-platform user experience as we assist in our ever growing user base.
Some of our recent accomplishments are:
Increasing on-site video streams by 120%, resulting in 150% increase in monthly ad revenue year-over-year.
Creating a library dedicated to site-wide ad performance, resulting in a significant improvements to ad load and page load speed as well as reduced overhead needed for code releases.
Development at Investopedia:
The development team at Investopedia believes in owning their impact and fighting complexity while giving back and having fun. We believe that small, empowered, self-motivated teams can do big things. Our work crosses a wide variety of teams, applications, and technology stacks within Investopedia - collaboration and communication are as important as writing new code. We work primarily with PHP but have started to extract smaller services using Node.js and Python. We are currently undergoing tremendous growth in our business and are looking for several additional software developers to help us continue to deliver exceptional user experiences.
