Job Description

Reports To: Design Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Purpose: Provide material list and structural design for building projects

Construction Estimator Principal Accountabilities

  1. Analyze and interpret information to meet or exceed requirements of local municipality design standards
  2. Process supplied information that results in correct and efficient structural design of building projects in a timely manner
  3. Verify all provided information is in correct format for efficient manufacturing of building projects

Construction Estimator Responsibilities

  • Review and acclimate yourself to building project plans and specifications
  • Input information into MITEK software to provide accurate solutions
  • Develop correct formats for end users (layouts, batching, material list, point-of-sale export, etc.)
  • Upload project information to correct data storage location for future reference

Construction Estimator Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to communicate design aspects in simplified format to customers or end users
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD software and 3D modeling
  • Working knowledge of residential building principles
  • Intermediate math skills to include geometry
  • General understanding of load development
  • Ability to read and understand building plans
  • Possess strong attention to details

Construction Estimator Experience 

  • 1-3 years working with Microsoft Office, CAD and/or 3D modeling software
  • 6 months of proven customer service experience

Qualifications

  • Must pass required company drug screens as part of drug-free workplace
  • 2 years of college or technical school or 3 years of relevant experience
