We design, build and operate the lowest cost hybrid (solar and biomass) power plant and distribution network in India and Africa. To date, Husk has provided electricity to over 15,000 homes and business, reducing 95,000 tonnes of CO2. Our aim is to provide 30MW of power to 225,000 customers by 2025 and save 350,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.

Job Description

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the operations of solar mini-grid sites ranging from 20 to 100 kWp.
  • Supervise a team of 100 members, providing clear guidance, task allocation, and ongoing support.
  • Develop daily and weekly operational plans to ensure smooth functioning of all sites.
  • Schedule maintenance and conduct periodic checks to uphold high operational standards.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for solar inverters and battery systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and operational procedures.

Asset Health & Energy Management:

  • Maintain and monitor asset health, implementing measures to prolong the life of equipment and reduce energy losses.
  • Conduct energy calculations and optimize system performance for efficient energy utilization.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational performance, site efficiency, and asset health.
  • Provide analytical insights into site operations and identify areas for improvement to enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with management for P&L analysis and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Develop a strong, motivated team by fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular team training on new technologies, safety protocols, and maintenance practices.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with at least 3 years in operations, preferably in solar PV and energy storage systems.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of solar systems, battery storage, and inverter technology.
  • Proficiency in energy calculations and hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintenance.

Soft Skills:

  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills for team management and effective reporting.
  • Proven team management skills, with experience in handling large teams across multiple locations.
