Job Description

Position Name: HR Generalist

Division / Function:  HR/Admin

Location of the Job: Abuja

Reports to: Manager, HR & Admin and Global VP HR

Role Summary

Husk is seeking a skilled Recruitment Specialist to assist in sourcing and managing top-notch talent. This role requires a dynamic, metric-driven candidate who has a passion for placing people into the jobs that suit them and is adaptive to different requirements and work settings.

Key responsibilities:

General

  • Consult with leaders, hiring managers, and the Assistant Manager, HR & Admin on position descriptions, requisition creation, compensation, and sourcing strategies.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting.
  • Continuously develop networks/partnerships to actively build a database/pipeline of applicants and close qualified candidates.
  • Determining selection criteria, hiring profiles, and job requirements for vacant positions.
  • Talent sourcing through online career portals, recruitment sites, job boards, and social platforms, as well as print media, posters, and flyers, when required.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required such as obtaining references from previous employers, obtaining background checks, and paperwork such as work status from applicants.
  • Oversee consistent compliance with established recruitment best practices and processes.
  • Balance hiring needs and team capacity. Efficiently manage workload to ensure correct and timely hiring.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand job requirements and develop job descriptions and job specifications.
  • Utilize various channels (job boards, social media, networking, etc.) to source potential candidates.
  • Maintain candidate databases and ensure accurate and updated candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Provide support in HR-related activities. 

Qualifications

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant HR Certification obtained would be advantageous.
  • 3 -4 years of HR Recruiter or talent acquisition experience preferred.
  • Previous internship or experience in HR or recruitment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with recruitment processes and sourcing techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) is desirable.
  • Meticulous in documenting and reporting. Can create working processes and databases for building robust role pipelines.
  • Ability to provide high-level talent acquisition and management support to various business units.
  • Ability to drive engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Clear and concise communication and presentation skills in both verbal and written contexts.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement in people strategies and initiatives.

Additional Information

Location and Travel

This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria.                                                                      

Salary

NGN200,000 to NGN300,000, based on experience.
