Job Description
Position Name: Technical Sales Associate, C & I
Division / Function: C & I

Reports to: Head, C & I Business
Role Summary
Husk is seeking a Technical Sales Associate, C & I, to help expand its C & I business within Nigeria and across other parts of sub-Saharan Africa. We seek a business professional to take up the challenge of developing a wide range of functions and who will be committed to executing at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
The Technical Sales Associate – C & I is a mid-level position providing support for the Head, C & I Business in leading efforts to grow the business within Nigeria and other sub-Saharan African countries. This role is ultimately responsible for driving sales of solar and biomass installation projects for commercial and industrial clients. The candidate will have a track record of proven engineering design skills, sales generating and conversion abilities (communication, relationship building, negotiation.) as well as renewable sector energy knowledge.
The individual should also be passionate about solving one of Nigeria’s most critical challenges – the energy access deficit. This position provides the opportunity to join a growing team that is changing the face of rural electrification in many countries in Africa and Asia, including India, Nigeria, etc.
Key responsibilities:
General
- Implement the agreed growth strategies and plans as set out by the Head, C & I Business
- Support in driving the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales strategies for the business.
Sales Management
- Provide regular reporting on sales management, sales pipeline development, forecasting, key account status, market condition updates, sales results, and budget performance.
- Actively provide requisite client support during the sales cycle including inquiry generation, load analysis/energy audits, offer submission, techno-commercial discussion, financial negotiation, and contract closure.
- Develop and maintain relationships with solar distribution channels and strategic accounts and the technical and commercial decision-makers in these companies.
- Identify client requirements and proffer product, project, C & I, or knowledge-based solutions.
- Provide key account management support for existing clients and target new potential accounts for direct selling to potential clients guided by a strategic roadmap.
- Conduct periodic technical reviews of competitors/market/industry offerings and ensure that Husk's offering is at par with such by presenting recommendations and reports
- Performance will be assessed by pipeline generation, projects closed, project profitability, revenue, customer relationship enhancement, brand influence, and enhanced market competitiveness.
Business Support
- Co-ordinate with the Engineering and Projects Teams on inputs regarding client-specific solutions and efficient project deployment.
- Identify and select Products/Technologies/Vendors/Service Providers/Tools in alignment with the Procurement Team ensuring the best prices, and reliability.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordination with clients and prospective customers, business meetings, progress tracking, and site visits.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Attributes
- Graduate from a leading institution with a related degree in Engineering. Postgraduate degree in business and/or related professional qualifications, a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience and 3 years of experience in a similar role within the energy sector particularly solar, EPC, or C & I project development, RE + BESS projects.
- Ability to identify and convert new clients while maintaining existing relationships.
- Experience in implementing and regularly using data processing, dashboarding, and engineering design tools.
- Experience with proposal writing, deal structuring, and debt structuring for projects.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making and customer-focused initiatives.
- Hands-on experience in selling power solutions to clients within target markets.
- Excellent negotiation, project, and contract management skills
- Highly motivated and target-driven
- Has a collaborative attitude and ability to drive that through across business units/work functions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
Additional Information
Location and Travel
This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria. Constant traveling is required to speak/meet with potential clients and convert for business goals.
Salary
NGN300,000 to NGN500,000, based on experience.
