Providing advice and support across the organisation to ensure that Council run events and activities are appropriate, relevant, and targeted, and achieve the strategic objectives of Hume City Council (HCC).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist with the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of Council’s major festivals and events.
  • Ensure event planning is adequately documented, and these documents are appropriately disseminated within the team.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure appropriate documentation is provided.
  • Maintain records including contracts, permits, and financials. 
  • Provide operational support for Council’s major events and festivals.
  • Provide consistent and quality customer service to all internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Attend and actively participate in events and activities managed by the Festivals and Events team. 

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Previous experience working in an events role supporting operations and event planning in an office environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills; including the ability to organise work and complete tasks accurately within established deadlines.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate effectively and gain co-operation and assistance from customers, management and employees at all levels within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and proficiency in keyboard usage along with accomplished grammar and spelling.
  • Knowledge of Council software applications including Finance One, Merit and TRIM is desirable.

Certifications & Qualifications:

  • A nationally recognised certificate in Administration, or Event Management field is desirable. 
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence (preferrable).
