Human Service Agency is unique to South Dakota as we are the only Community Support Provider and Mental Health Counseling Center located within one agency. We are divided into two divisions: Behavioral Health, which administers counseling and other mental health services, and New Horizons, which directs programs and services for the developmentally disabled. Our New Horizons staff makes it their mission to improve the life experiences of the developmentally disabled.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to support people with disabilities in their home, place of employment, or day services. The DSP is responsible to assist each person supported to achieve personal outcomes that reflect their dreams, hopes, and desires.

Physical Requirements Include:

• Lifting requirements may exceed 50 lbs. during medical emergency situations and/or behavior support.
• Other physical activities include transferring people we support to and from wheelchairs/beds/ toilets, making beds, pushing wheelchairs, carrying groceries, vacuuming, housekeeping, sweeping, and laundry.
• Job requires bending, stooping, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, and driving a vehicle.

Minimum Qualifications Include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening
