Job Description

As the Assistant Merchandise Planner, you are responsible for managing inventory, planning and forecasting for high-growth, complex merchandise categories – ensuring that those categories have enough inventory at the right time to meet revenue goals. Creativity and flexibility will be paramount as you identify retail trends across multiple categories to better forecast and manage inventory appropriately. We are a non-traditional retailer and move quickly, we need a big picture thinker who is extremely detail oriented and highly analytical to help us scale.


Position Description
  • Demonstrates expertise in merchandise planning, replenishment, and inventory management and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans for merchandise categories
  • Develop strategic Tops Down Plan - sales, margin, inventory by month and category for Apparel and Footwear departments
  • Owns category inventory management and executes weekly and monthly reporting and action plans to meet inventory turn goals
  • Creates and owns item level replenishment process within complex and high-growth merchandise categories to avoid out of stocks
  • Creates and maintains ad hoc reporting of categories to assess the health of the business including customer returns, margin, shipping costs, conversions, etc.
  • Executes RTV and markdown processes to maintain optimal inventory levels for merchandise categories
  • Supports the continuous development of financial strategies for complex merchandise categories

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years professional experience in merchandise planning or inventory management
  • Highly proficient in excel including Pivot Tables and Macros
  • Highly analytical with a passion for products, gear, and the outdoors
  • E-commerce experience at a retailer is preferred.
