We are currently looking for a Head of Shipping for our new Columbus warehouse location to spearhead the establishment of best shipping practices for our new location and to help build out our Shipping Team.

This is a position for an active team lead excited to get in at the ground floor of a new project and have an impact on a growing warehouse.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively and report directly to the Warehouse Manager in Ohio
  • Day to day packing and shipping duties
  • Leading and delegating of shipping team (up to 10 people) and packing team (up to 15 people) in day to day tasks and special projects
  • Preparing and submitting bills of landing for international and domestic carriers, managing inbound and outbound carrier equipment, tracking volume of outbound parcels, etc.
  • Analyzing, preparing, and submitting requests for restocking of shipping supplies weekly
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with shipping and packing department team members, head of CX, and other warehouse departments
  • Train packers and shippers on warehouse best practices
  • Identify picking error trends and communicate these with warehouse manager

Qualifications

  • 1+ years package handling or shipping experience (including packing best practices)
  • Think proactively and communicate efficiently
  • Problem solving skills
  • Quick and accurate worker
  • Advanced understanding of Google products, Microsoft Office, basic PC skills
  • Firm grasp of US geography and basic knowledge of world geography
  • Must be able to commute to Rickenbacker airport area daily

Pluses:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • E-commerce or retail experience ideal
  • Experience leading small teams (3-5 people)
  • Familiarity with the Huckberry brand
  • Experience working effectively in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Creativity

Working conditions:

  • Constantly active in a large warehouse and on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motion, finger dexterity and small motor skills a must
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Operationally sound with pallet jacks and other standard warehouse tools
