Job Description

Keep the numbers sharp. Keep the business moving.

We're looking for a detail-driven and proactive Accounts Officer to join Hub Australia's finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave. This is a hands-on operational role sitting at the core of our finance function - owning end-to-end accounts payable and receivable, supporting month-end activities, and keeping financial transactions accurate and on time across our national network.

If you're someone who takes pride in clean books, thrives on problem-solving, and brings a service-oriented mindset to everything you do, we'd love to hear from you.

What your day-to-day will look like (but not limited to!):

  • Own the end-to-end accounts payable function - processing invoices, managing payment runs, and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle - accurate billing, proactive collections, credit control, and resolving member enquiries with care.
  • Maintain daily and monthly reconciliations across bank accounts, credit cards, and expense platforms, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Support month-end close activities including journal entries, AR ageing reporting, and financial outputs within agreed deadlines.
  • Manage the shared accounts inbox and finance ticketing system, triaging and resolving queries from members, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and automation across the finance function.

Qualifications

We're Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has 2–3 years' experience in a transactional finance or accounts role, with exposure to both AP and AR functions.
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Brings high attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills across complex, multi-site environments.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with members, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Is proficient in Excel and experienced with Xero - familiarity with Lightyear or Volopay is a bonus.
  • Is solutions-focused, adaptable, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Additional Information

    Why you should join us:

    • Be part of a collaborative, hospitality-led team that genuinely cares about the experience they deliver.
    • Join a growing, purpose-led organisation that is a certified Great Place to Work™, B Corp, and carbon-neutral business.
    • Access great perks including the Sonder (Wellbeing and Safety), paid volunteer leave, and your birthday off.
    • Work with passionate teammates who exemplify our values: Hospitality First, Lead with Impact, Elevate Everyday, Make Things Happen.

Keen to join but don’t tick all the boxes? Apply Anyway!

We understand that skills and potential don't always fit neatly into a checklist. If you're passionate about this role but don't meet every single requirement, we still want to hear from you. Your unique experience and enthusiasm could be just what we're looking for!

At Hub Australia, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We believe that our strength lies in our differences, and we are committed to providing an environment where everyone is welcomed, respected, and supported. We encourage applicants of all backgrounds, identities, abilities and experiences to apply, as we strive to reflect the communities we serve.
