Job Description


Summary

The position will have the responsibility of developing and delivering network architectures and design involving Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies to drive network agility and operational efficiencies 


Responsibilities :

• The core responsibilities for this position will include: 

• Develop SDN/NFV architecture to support network evolution and future network automation and programmability 

• Interact with cross functional DEV/OPS & Products teams to define and automation & programmability into the network evolution, future products and services. 

• Assess vendor offerings related to network centralized control and orchestration, network virtualization 

• Recommend vendor and open source solutions related to SDN and NFV 

• Define use cases and document business advantages and justifications related to SDN and NFV deployments 

• Prototype architecture to demonstrate conceptual operation and assess technical feasibility 

• Develop software and orchestration technology design and strategy for next generation services 

• Analyze networking and software technologies and vendors to support service requirements 

• Provide thought leadership, strategy and lead innovation by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing technologies for SDN and service orchestration 

Desired Skills and Experience

• The ideal candidate has extensive technology and design experience involving Software Development, Networking Protocols, Ethernet transport, Networking Orchestration, OpenStack and Virtual/Cloud Network Architectures. Candidate needs to have proven experience in: Application Development Agile methodology, related to network orchestration, service delivery (configuration and provisioning), Network Virtualization, Security and Data Center architecture, Cloud Platform deployment involving infrastructure management, service orchestration and instantiation, and business logic integration. 

• This candidate should have 6+ years architecting cloud solutions, including underlying infrastructure technologies (compute, storage, and network) 

• Direct work experience involving LAN and WAN network design, data center architecture, Cloud concepts and operation 

• Working experience with LINUX (RedHat/Suse/Debian/Ubuntu/BSD) 

• Programming in C, C++, JAVA, shell, Perl, Python, CGI, ASP, PHP, VB, .NET a plus 

• Highly proficient and hands on experience in the following inter networking technologies IGP (OSPF/ISIS), MBGP/BGP, Multicast, MPLS, L2VPN (VPLS,EVPN), L3VPN, ,L2 switching, TCP/IP, IPv6, VXLAN, Openflow 

• Open Stack Networking (Neutron) plug-in / OpenStack Heat Integration, Cloudify, OPNFV,ONOS 

• Knowledge of security and enterprise architecture 

• Expert level knowledge of Layer-2 and Layer 3 network technologies 

• Software development experience, including API development (REST, XML, etc.) and SOA methodology 

• Experience using SCRUM agile development methodology 

• Knowledge related to designing and operating virtualized environment for compute and storage 

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical Discipline
