Our water resources engineers work on a variety of exciting projects including design work for dams, levees, lakes, streams, stormwater management, flood risk reduction, watershed planning, hydraulic structures, and other projects related to Water Resources Engineering.

Job Description

  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design various project features and ArcGIS for watershed planning.
  • Prepare studies, reports, and design documents to support plans and specifications for civil and water resources projects and watershed planning efforts.
  • Complete engineering analyses and calculations.
  • Prepare outline of engineering services, scope of work, and associated budgets.
  • Develop solutions for various types of Water Resource projects.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
  • Perform project management duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the civil and water resources engineering areas.
  • NE Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain the license within 6 months.
  • Basic understanding of water resources and associated regulations in Nebraska and/or Iowa.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid critical thinking skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude under pressure, strong team player, responsible, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in AutoCad Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with availability for periodic travel.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
