Come join our Maple Grove Water Resources team as you start your civil engineering career! We are looking for an entry level water resources engineer who is interested in a variety of water resources projects; someone who is motivated to grow and learn as they step into their career. At HEI, you will have the opportunity to work on multifaceted civil engineering projects that touch a broad range of areas within water resources including flood management, stream restoration, dam design, climate resiliency modeling, wetland restoration and creation modeling, urban and rural water quality improvements, and agricultural drainage.

Job Description

We are looking for a candidate who can adapt to the needs that our team has in different seasons whether that means doing on-sight construction observation or CAD redlines in the office. You will be a part of solutions to complex water resources problems through design and building phases.

  • Prepare hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality models to address water resource challenges.
  • Analyze reports, maps, and other data to plan and design projects.
  • Coordinate with other engineering departments on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Provide onsite construction inspections and survey crew assistance.
  • Work with CAD drafters on project designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or Biosystems Engineering or related field.
  • Ideal years of experience is entry level to 3 years.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or hydrology software preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
