Job Description

A junior accountant is an entry-level position within the accounting department of a company or organization. They are responsible for assisting with a variety of financial tasks, such as:

  • Maintaining and updating financial records: This includes recording transactions, posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
  • Preparing financial statements: This includes creating balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyzing financial data: This involves identifying trends and patterns in financial information to provide insights to management.
  • Accounts payable and receivable: This includes processing invoices, managing payments, and collecting debts.
  • Payroll: This may involve assisting with the calculation and processing of employee paychecks.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: This includes helping to develop and monitor budgets, as well as forecasting future financial performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.

  • Maintains the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.

  • Summarizes the financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other statements.

  • Verifies, allocates, posts, and reconciles transactions to produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.

  • Analyzes financial information and summarizes the financial status.

  • Provides technical support and advice on accounting matters to management.

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

  • Performs other accounting tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience as an Accountant
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookup and pivot tables
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
  • English Fluency is a MUST!
