Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Care Assistant to join our team in Rochdale. In this rewarding role, you will live in a client's home and provide essential non-medical support services, enabling our clients to maintain their independence and quality of life. You will be the primary point of contact for our clients, building meaningful professional relationships whilst delivering outstanding, person-centred care with empathy and professionalism.

  • Provide personal care support including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner - Support clients with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs, taking into account any dietary requirements or preferences
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment - Accompany clients on outings, appointments, and social activities to promote engagement and wellbeing - Administer medication reminders and support clients in taking prescribed medications as directed - Monitor and report on clients' health, wellbeing, and any changes in condition to relevant healthcare professionals
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of care provided, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations - Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the wider care team to ensure coordinated and consistent support
  • Respond promptly and professionally to clients' requests and concerns, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills - Maintain a safe living environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards or safeguarding concerns - Support clients' independence by encouraging them to undertake tasks they are capable of managing themselves - Uphold professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

Essential: - Minimum one year's experience providing support to Clients with Dementia - Demonstrable understanding of safeguarding principles and duty of care responsibilities - Strong people skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds - Excellent time keeping and reliability; ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance
  • Commitment to person-centred care and promoting client dignity and independence 
  • Experience working with clients with dementia
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
