The Role of a Care Assistant

We have an excellent career opportunity for the role of Home Care Assistant  to join our amazing Home Instead Retford and Gainsborough branch working in the following areas:

  • Retford and surrounding villages

Retford, Ordsall, Hallcroft, Clarborough, Ranskill, Grove, North Wheatley, Woodbeck, Sturton le Steeple, South Leverton, Rampton, Laneham, Clayworth, Ranby, Gamston, Torworth, Barnby Moor, Askham, Lound, Treswell, Hayton, Kneesall, Bothamsall, Bole, Rockley, Cottam, West Drayton, West Markham, Eaton, Headon, Babworth, Lound, Welham, Bevercoates

We are seeking caring individuals who can support our clients and offer both full-time, part-time positions.

Care assistants support clients in the community to live and remain in their own home. Due to the nature of the role in the community you must be willing to travel around Rotherham and commit to working a combination of the following shift times 7am – 2.30pm and 3.45pm – 9.45pm including alternative weekends and bank holidays and at least two evening shifts per week.

We require applicants have a valid driving licence, access to a car and willing to add business insurance to their insurance policy.

You will support clients with:

  • Personal care tasks
  • Medication
  • Meal preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Shopping
  • General companionship and wellbeing
  • Taking clients to medical appointments

We provide you with:

  • up to £14.00 per hour
  • Contracts available for 16 and 30 hours per week
  • Travel time paid and mileage allowance
  • Paid induction
  • Double time paid on Bank Holidays

  • Paid training updates & supervisions
  • Every second weekend off
  • Holiday pay

Qualifications

  • Passion for supporting others and delivering outstanding care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build professional relationships
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and respect for confidentiality
  • Physical stamina to assist with mobility and personal care tasks
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding towards clients' needs
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and health screenings
  • Previous experience in a care setting is desirable, but not essential
