Home Instead Shoreham, Longfield, and Petts wood provides person-centred care for our Clients across the Northwest Kent County. It is our aim to assist our clients who wish to remain living safely in the comfort of their own homes. Home Instead provides them with the support they need to live their way as independently as possible.
We are looking to recruit a dedicated Senior Care Professional who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring for older people, your tasks will include supporting our clients and being role-model for other Care Professionals working out in the field. Your will overseeing the ad-hoc client visits that require cover.
On-call duties
- Alternative weekend retainer (to be available to cover any uncovered client visits) this will vary each time. There may weekends that a very quiet and others where you must go out throughout the weekend. So be ready for anything.
- Visiting a verity of clients who require support within our catchment area.
- Delivering personal hygiene care, meal preparation, administering medication, light housekeeping, and recording of activities and visit notes.
- Support within the office when required.
Hours required
- This role is based on a minimum availability of alternative weekend cover starting from Friday 5pm through to Sunday evening 9pm.
- Weekday hours can be negotiated, if you require extra.
Salary
- You will receive a £75.00 retainer fee for on-call
- Hourly rate is paid at £13.00 per hour whilst on visits.
- Additional to the above you will receive paid travel at rate of £11.44 pro rata
- Additional paid fuel allowance at 30p per mile.
Qualifications
Skills
- Excellent communication skills and be a communitive team player
- A good understanding of person-centred care
- At least 1 year experience in a care-based role
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle is necessary for this role
- Full training will be provided
