Job Description

The requirements of the role vary from client to client as all of our clients have individual care packages suited to their needs however some of the roles and responsibilities you will be required to support with are the following: Aspects of personal care (toileting, assisting with personal hygiene), meal preparation, medication prompts, homecare support as well as companionship including accompanying the client to shops, pharmacies and attending social groups and activities.

We also specialise in Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, full training for specialist care is given.

The care we provide at Home Instead is based around 24 hours a day 7 days per week. We are flexible around hours however we require the alternate weekend (Saturday and Sunday) as well as evenings in some capacity midweek.

Qualifications

You will not need any experience of working in the care setting or interacting with older people but it would be desirable if you do. This could be personal experience of caring for a family member or voluntary experience. You will need to have a passion for supporting others and pride yourself on delivering an outstanding service. You will need be reliable, trustworthy and respectful. You will need to enjoy building professional friendships and are comfortable in spending time in the company of others.

Driving Licence is preferred due to the current COVID-19 circumstances.

Our Recruitment Assessment Program will prepare you for the role and there are plenty of ongoing education opportunities to help you develop your knowledge and skills.
