Home Instead Senior Care Dartford is growing and is establishing a great reputation for quality care in the local area.  As we grow, it is increasingly important that we recruit the best CAREGivers to work with us and keep them feeling as engaged and motivated as possible.                                                         To assist with this, a new role is being created, to focus on our recruitment and CAREGiver training.  Based in our office in Swanscombe, but also with a requirement to work flexibly at times, this role will play a key part in our growth and future success. 

Job Description

The Recruiter / Trainer is responsible for the recruitment of CAREGivers and for delivering the Learning and Development Assessment Program for every new starter. The Recruiter / Trainer is a warm, passionate and capable individual who is expected to promote the CAREGiver role with enthusiasm across the community and identify, screen, interview and train all potential CAREGivers to provide the highest quality service to our clients.

Qualifications

The Role

To manage all aspects of recruitment, including:

o   Screen each application received via our online recruitment system and contact each applicant with our sms and survey system.

o   Interview and assess each selected candidate.

o   Perform all relevant checks such as character references, criminal background (DBS) and motor vehicle insurance checks etc. throughout the onboarding process.

o   Keep all adverts, job boards, marketing materials up to date.

o   Maintain and update all recruitment databases and electronic candidate files.

o   Achieve targeted recruitment figures.

o   Agree with the franchise owners on a monthly plan for recruitment, including networking opportunities in the community, advertising, PR and recruitment drives/ open days, career fairs.

o   Research and pursue new recruitment sources and enhance and maintain relationships with existing recruitment sources.

o   Focus on key gaps (e.g. certain postcodes, evenings, weekends) as requested by Care Manager.

o   Report results to the franchise owners on a weekly basis.

o   Help maintain regular, informative and engaging communications with existing staff.

o   Establish a widespread reputation for Home Instead Senior Care as a great place to work with fun/professional/meaningful work.

o   Use initiative to introduce suitable media (video, podcast, etc.) to complement the subject matter.

To deliver the new hire induction, including:

o   Identify and invite the candidates to attend the Learning and Development Assessment Program.

o   Deliver that induction training twice a month or when required.

o   Ensure the candidates have a positive experience with Home Instead Senior Care with attention to the training environment, catering, etc.

o   Maintain the training matrix for existing staff, ensuring all refresher courses and new training are completed within the correct timescale, using our e-learning system and workshops in the office.

o   Work with UK National Office and other Home Instead franchises to incorporate best practices from across the network.

o   Develop appropriate training programs for other job roles over time (e.g. Team Leader, Scheduler) and agree a plan with franchise owners to enhance the skills of the existing office team through personal development plans and coaching. 

Person Specification

Essential skills and experience:

o   Confident presenter to small groups and individuals

o   Warm and engaging communication style

o   Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly

o   Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills

o   Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

o   Good working knowledge of IT systems (as we are a paperless office)

o   Friendly and positive telephone and interview manner

o   A passion for the delivery of quality care for older people and a genuine interest in the wellbeing of others, as well as understanding how this can be improved 

o   Minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C including Maths and English

o   Understanding of recruitment legislation including DBS checks, referencing and ID checks

o   Flexibility to work outside ‘9-17, Monday to Friday’ on occasions

o   A team-player, happy to contribute to the ongoing development and success of this growing business

Desirable skills and experience:

o   Experience in preparing and managing recruitment campaigns

o   Training experience and completed Train the Trainer course on a relevant topic

o   Experience of networking in the local community

o   Experience in preparing and managing training programmes

o   Knowledge of social media as a recruitment tool
